Montblanc’s Tribute to Jules Verne & Around the World In 80 Days

This particular pen is a special edition of Montblanc’s Legrand Solitaire model, and its design focuses primarily on the first portion of the famous novel. The first leg of travel in Jules Verne’s classic is from London to Bombay by steam boat. On both the cap and barrel a pattern featuring ocean waves for this journey by steamboat, card suits for the bet that was made at the onset of the novel, as well as a laser-engraved steam boat on a cartouche along the body of the pen.

At the top of the cap you’ll find two numbers: 18 for the amount of time it took to travel from London to Bombay, and 80 on the opposing side for the length of the total trip. On the nib of the pen you will find a hot-air balloon crafted in champagne-gold over rhodium plating, as well as the start and end date of the famed journey in the novel. A black spade emblem sits on the end of the clip, further distinguishing this special pen from other Montblanc Le Grand models.
